On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the events of 11 September 2001 in New York, Rome remembers the nearly 3,000 victims who died on a day that shook the world, by holding three days of commemorative events in the city.
On Saturday 10 Sept, a piano concerto is performed by Alessio Bax and Camille Chung with music by Schubert, at the Museo della Centrale Montemartini in the Ostiense area of Rome, at 19.00. The next evening the same museum is the venue for the opening of the exhibition Cities of New York, which runs until 9 Oct. Curated by Mariateresa Cerretelli, the exhibition features photographs from 9/11 as well as paintings and installations by contemporary artists inspired by that fateful day. www.centralemontemartini.org.
