Rome on maximum terror alert

Manhunt for 27-year-old Syrian in Rome.

"Tomorrow in Rome I will go to paradise". These were the words intercepted by anti-terrorism officials in a telephone conversation by a 27-year-old Syrian on 19 July.

Rome police chiefs have reportedly issued all officers with an alert to track down the man, described as a "dangerous individual", as a matter of urgency.

Police have been issued with a photograph of the man, as well as two different identities, but the photograph has not been made public.
