New casualty dept for Rome's Pertini hospital

Facilities introduced ahead of Holy Jubilee year.

The Pertini hospital in the Monti Tiburtini suburb of east Rome has received new accident and emergency facilities ahead of the Vatican's Holy Jubilee year which begins on 8 December.

The casualty department was inaugurated on 19 October by the Lazio region governor Nicola Zingaretti as part of Rome's Jubilee plans overseen by the city and the Lazio region. The hospital's emergency department received funding of €1.8 million and will be staffed by 13 new doctors and nurses.
