Mediterranean diet on the decline.
People living in the Mediterranean basin have changed their eating habits for the worse with most now consuming higher levels of meat, fats and processed food according to a senior economist of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
In a recent paper, Josef Schmidhuber reveals that in the 40 years to 2002 people in Mediterranean countries upped their daily calorie intake by 30 per cent, compared to the overall 20 per cent increase in Europe. He says that the Mediterranean diet has
