Rome residents who give blood in August or September will receive a special voucher which can be exchanged for two free tickets to one of the city museums. First-time donors also receive two free tickets for the Battello di Roma river boat service along the Tiber. In both cases the tickets must be used by 15 October. The initiative is part of the annual summer campaign organised by the city council to encourage people to give blood at a time of year when donations typically drop by 40 per cent, slowing transfusions and transplants. For more information and to find out where you can give blood call Donasangue, tel. 0644291999, Mon-Fri 10.00-17.00, Sat 10.00-13.00.
