Ignazio Marino: I never used public money for private purposes

Marino's supporters to hold demonstration in 25 October.

Ignazio Marino's supporters are expected to hold a demonstration outside city hall at midday on Sunday 25 October, calling on the mayor to remain in office.

In a press conference on 20 October the outgoing mayor said that he had "never used public money for private purposes, if anything the contrary."

The mayor underlined again that he is not personally under investigation in a probe into apparent inconsistencies in his municipal expenses, which led to his resignation on 8 October.
