The three heat waves – named Scipione, Caronte and Minosse – that have hit Italy over the last month have already beaten some of the heat records registered in the dreaded 2003 summer. The African anticyclone Minosse will be at its maximum strength on 11 and 12 July, according to the weather forecast website www.meteo.it. From 15 July, some showers should take the temperatures down, but only in the north of Italy.
