Rome mayor slams "shameful act"

An effigy of teenage climate change activist was hung under the bridge on Via Isacco Newton, leading to Rome's Fiumicino airport.

The hanged effigy, with braids and a sign saying "Greta it's your God", was removed by Rome fire fighters accompanied by police.

Rome mayor Virginia Raggi took to Twitter to denounce the act as "shameful."
