Elderly and disabled people living in the IX municipio (local administrative area) can now make use of a free transport service to get to and from local health structures and public offices. The service, which is operated by the city road transport provider Trambus, functions on a call-out basis and is available Mon-Fri from 08.30 to 16.30 excluding public holidays. To book transport it is necessary to call the Centrale Operativa Disabili Trambus on tel. 0646954698/23 at least 24 hours before the desired travel time. The call centre is operative Mon-Fri from 08.00 to 12.00 excluding public holidays. Tickets are available free of charge from the social services department of the IX municipio, tel. 0669609643/39, and must be presented to the driver upon collection. A similar service is already running in the III, IV and XVI municipi.
