Fewer organ donors in Lazio.
The number of organ donations in the region of Lazio was down last year according to the Italian ministry of health. Statistics showed that there were 11 organ donations for every million inhabitants in 2005 against 16 donations for every million in habitants in 2004. The region of Liguria had the most number of organ donations with 37 for every million inhabitants. There was also a sharp decrease in the number of transplants in Lazio; 168 in 2005, against 314 in 2004.
