Central European summer time (CEST) begins
Clocks go forward by one hour on the night of 27-28 March, heralding the start of daylight saving time in the Central European Time (CET) zones.
You may lose an hour of sleep but this is compensated by the longer days that usher in the summer.
Standard time resumes on Sunday 31 October 2010.
