The 13th edition of the Rome Film Fest opens at 19.30 on Thursday 18 October with Bad Times at The El Royale at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, where most of the festival's events will be held until 28 October. The movie's director Drew Goddard and star Cailee Spaeny will attend the Rome premiere.
Over the course of the next ten days the public will have the chance to attend the Close Encounters public talks with stars such as Cate Blanchett, Martin Scorsese, Sigourney Weaver, Isabelle Huppert, Michael Moore, Jonathan Safran Foer and Giuseppe Tornatore.
The 2018 edition features 60 features, including 34 premieres, as well as multiple special events including retrospectives for Peter Sellers and Maurice Pialat and cinema-related photography exhibitions.
A highlight of the festival will be the world premiere of The Girl in the Spider’s Web, to be attended by the cast including star Claire Foy, known for her role as Queen Elizabeth II in the Netflix series The Crown.
Produced by Fondazione Cinema per Roma, this year's Rome Film Fest has recorded “brisk tickets pre-sales: an 8 per cent increase in sold tickets”, according to the festival's artistic director Antonio Monda.
