Italy's annual musical extravaganza, the San Remo Festival, which takes place 17-21 February, will have an injection of Hollywood glamour this year, thanks to a host of movie stars who are to make an appeal to support the charitable organisation, One, which was established by Bono of the Irish rock group U2 to fight world poverty.

The stars scheduled to appear in the video-appeal include Ben Affleck, Penelope Cruz, Claudia Schiffer and Antonio Banderas. Matt Damon will also be "returning" to San Remo, the scene of an episode in his 1999 hit film
