Torino World Music Meeting.
3-11 Oct. 2003 In the wake of last years successful festival, this year the programme consists mainly of concerts by African musicians. Amongst them are Rokia Traore, Tony Allen, Les Tambours de Brazza, Salif Keita and the Gangbe Brass Band; a wide selection that shows just how diverse and varied African music can be. The festival also includes a conference on the theme of intercultural dialogue (3-4 Oct), a day of non-stop screenings of Algerian films (15 Oct), and a football tournament involving foreigners who live in Turin.
