6-10 July 2004. In Sette Danze Greche, Don Giovanni, Il Mandarino Meraviglioso, choreography by Maurice Bjart. Bjart has especially adapted the famous Sette Danze Greche he created back in 1983 for the Ballet du XXme Sicle to be inserted in the Japanese companys repertoire. The Belgian choreographers collaboration with Tokyo Ballet has been strong since he created Kabuki for it in 1986. This company was founded in 1964 by the impresario Tadatsugu Sasaki with the aim of "taking possession" of all aspects of western dance; it immediately tackled Swan Lake, Giselle and Sleeping Beauty. The company has since undertaken over 200 international tours presenting the world with a host of excellent dancers and a vast repertoire, including innumerable especially-commissioned works.
