The Night of the Moon at MAXXI in Rome

Rome celebrates 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 moon landing.

20 July. Rome's MAXXI Museo Nazionale delle Arte XXI secolo presents La Notte della Luna, a free event combining visual arts, science, music to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, and the launch into space of Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano, on Saturday 20 July.

The evening begins at 17.00 with a talk and live connection from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, for the European Space Agency (ESA) Beyond take-off, with astronaut Luca Parmitano, who departs on his second mission into space.

At 20.00, there is the inauguration of the Lunar City exhibition, comprising satellite photographs and videos, curated by Alessandra Bonavina, with the support of NASA and the American embassy in Italy.
Apollo 11 Reloaded at MAXXI in Rome.
This is followed at 21.00 with the projection of the trailer for the Lunar City documentary, followed by a live set by Martux_m and Giulio Maresca entitled Apollo 11 Reloaded, dedicated to the first lunar landing.
