The Israeli dancer and choreographer, who spent time with the Bat-Dor and the Bat-Sheva dance companies before moving to Lar Lubovitch’s New York-based company, has in recent years won much acclaim, as has his company. Teatro Romano. Jess Curtis Gravity Physical Entertainment and Fabrikcompanie. 28 June-13 July. In Fallen, choreography by Curtis. Curtis’s artistic language is made up of a mix of dance, theatre and aerial acrobatics. Teatrino delle Sei. Dance Gala. 4-5 July. This yearly rendezvous in Piazza del Duomo features stars from different companies in a selection of famous pas de deux or solos, including Austrian star Gregor Alexander Hatala. Piazza del Duomo is a magnificent backdrop, but is much too large for ballet; spectators who do not have a seat in the front rows miss most of the virtuosity they are there to see.
