The Italian government and football authorities have outlined tough new measures at a special cabinet meeting following the suspension of all matches on 2 February. The sanction was imposed after a 38-year-old police officer was killed and 70 injured when violence erupted in Sicily at a Catania-Palermo Serie A match.
