Rome mayor bans “centurions” and rickshaws
Raggi extends law banning Rome’s illegal “centurions” until July.
Rome mayor Virginia Raggi has banned costumed “centurions” and rickshaws from operating around historic tourist sites in the capital, with effect from 2 December.
Those caught breaking the new rules, which remain in place until 30 July next year, face fines of €400.
The previous order expired on 30 November leading to the brief return of several “centurions” in the area around the Colosseum on 1 December.
