Hungarian tourist carves letter T into Colosseum
Third case of vandalism at Rome's Colosseum in a week.
A 29-year-old Hungarian tourist faces charges of aggravated damage to a building of historical and cultural interest after vandalising the Colosseum in Rome.
The tourist engraved the letter "T", the initial of his first name, into an internal wall on the ground floor near the southern exit of the ancient amphitheatre.
It is the third case of vandalism in recent days: on 28 April a 17-year-old Bulgarian schoolgirl carved the letter "M" while on 25 April a 39-year-old Israeli woman engraved the initials of her husband and children into the monument.
