Spotlight on new Italian comedy

The ninth Rome Film Festival opens with Soap Opera on 16 October, and closes with Andiamo a quel paese on 25 October.

Starring Fabio De Luigi and Cristiana Capotondi, Soap Opera is directed by Alessandro Genovesi  and focuses on the adventures of the residents of a building on New Year’s Eve.

Andiamo a quel paese is the work of two Palermo comedians, Salvatore Ficarra and Valentino Picone, who wrote, directed and star the movie. Set in Sicily, the story follows two unemployed men who think they have stumbled on an ideal scam to earn some cash.

The Rome Film Festival runs at the Auditorium Parco della Musica from 16-25 October.
