Historically, Kiev stands alongside other great names in the Russian ballet tradition, and today it still struggles to maintain a reputation for artistic and technical brilliance. Its dancers are drawn mainly drawn from the Kiev and Moscow academies, and its repertoire is a classical one. Artistic Director Victor Litvinov is well known in Rome as he is a frequent guest teacher for the Rome ballet scene. Although the company has a fully-fledged orchestra back home, here in Rome the performances are to taped music and the theatre
