22-25 May 2003. In Tsu Ku Tsu, Symbiosis Walklyndon and Day Two. Pilobolus originated in 1970 on the Dartmouth College campus, when four students in a modern dance class produced a unique, organic, eleven-minute dance. Pilobolus Dance Theatre was founded by Moses Pendleton and Jonathan Wolken the following year, and it continues to attract audiences and prizes with its innovative, athletic approach. Pilobolus originally substituted athleticism for traditional dance technique. They have since blended the two; the creative effect achieved by the support of one anothers weight in unusual ways allows the dancers to explore new ways of moving.
