This year’s programme includes four world premiers and two Italian premieres and, as always covers, a cross section of classical, contemporary and popular dance.

There is also an evening (15 July) of performances by the graduates from La Scala, Accademia di Danza Vaganova and the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma dance schools. On 10 July Michele Merola’s MM Company makes its debut at the festival with a work by Enrico Morelli (Di Nuda Persona) and two by Merola (La metà dell’Ombra and Promessa alla Luna).

There’s an evening of tango on 21 July Tangos! – tanti stili un’unica arte.

On 24 July it is the turn of Italy’s foremost dance company Aterballetto. On 29 July “Storie di Donne” features three choreographies dedicated to three women Cara Kitty (Anna Frank) Oltre il destino (Frida Kahlo) and La Centesima Notte (to the Japanese poetess Ono no Komachi).

The last event is the Stuttgart Ballet (31 July) with choreographies by John Kranko.
