Former Nikolais American dancer/choreographer Carolyn Carlson made her name working in Europe and has strong ties with Italy. Her personal style is constructed out of a series of systems of movement, which imply there is a repetitious ritualistic content in expressionistic dance and an emotive force in plain ritualistic walking, stepping and running. This new work finds inspiration in oriental spirituality and philosophy and revolves around the "Tea Ceremony".
