World Tourism Day at the Vatican.
In observance of United Nations world tourism day on Sat 27 September, the Vatican museums and Sistine Chapel are open free of charge from 08.30 to 18.30 with final entrances at 16.00.
In addition, free guided tours of the Museo Storico Vaticano in the Palazzo Apostolico Lateranense (Piazza di Porta S. Giovanni, entrance through the main atrium of the Basilica S. Giovanni in Laterano) are available every hour on the hour from 09.00 until 12.00.
