Rome celebrates St David's day with a weekend concert series dedicated to the music of Welsh composer Mervyn Burtch.

Winner of the Jon Edwards Memorial Award for his contribution to the music of Wales, Burtch has composed a number of successful orchestral pieces and choral works. He has also written a number of pieces for amateurs and children as part of an endeavour to win new audiences by having them participate in the music.

The festivities open 27 February at 19.30 at the Church of Ss. Quirico e Giulietta in Via Tor de' Conti 31/a. This concert will see the first-ever performance of Burtch's
