Fiesta!, the Festival Internazionale di Musica e Cultura Latinoamericano, begins 19 June at the Capannelle racecourse on Via Appia Nuova with a performance by the African reggae star Alpha Blondie. Other artists taking part in the festival include Kid Creole & The Coconuts (1 July), best remembered for the hits "Stool Pigeon" and "Annie, I'm Not Your Daddy", and Shaggy (17 July), inventor of the "dog-a-muffin" style and the man behind "Oh Carolina" and "It Wasn't Me". Bob Marley's former backing band The Wailers play on 10 July, and among the Italian stars involved are Subsonica (24 June), Francesco De Gregori (7 July) and Cesare Cremonini (18 July). The festival runs until 16 August and tickets cost 6-8.
