Isozaki’s Uffizi exit gets green light.
Florence has given the final seal of approval to the project for a new exit at the Uffizi gallery designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, nine years after it was conceived. The tender to build the controversial structure has already been awarded, but the architect must now produce the working drawings before construction can begin. If all goes to plan the new exit should be finished in 2011.
