Colosseum reveals its true colours
Restoration works being carried out inside the Colosseum reveal that its true colours are a mixture of warm ochres and pale reds, and not the faded grey and sooty black caused by decades of pollution from heavy traffic. The area presently under renovation comprises 14 internal pillars and offers a preview of what the Colosseum should look like when fully restored.
