The third edition of Rendez-vous, the festival dedicated to new French cinema, is being held in Rome from 17-21 April.
The five-day festival will feature around 40 movies, from blockbusters to independent and short films, and is designed to showcase the best of contemporary French cinema.
In addition to screenings there will be masterclasses and encounters with filmmakers Costa-Gavras and Laurent Cantet, while among the festival's guests are directors Francois Ozon and Jacques Demy, and actresses Emmanuelle Seigner, Noémie Lvovsky and Anouk Aimée.
The event is being hosted in various locations around Rome such as Cinema Quattro Fontane, Casa Del Cinema, the French Academy at Villa Medici, and the MAXXI.
After Rome, smaller versions of the event will travel to Palermo, Bologna, Turin and Milan. For full programme see the Institut Francais website.
