5 Dec-13 March 2005. Paris sur glace (Paris on Ice) is a free outdoor ice skating rink set up every winter at the Hotel de Ville (town hall) in the 4th district. A beautiful setting for an outdoor rink, the stunning town hall building lies close to the River Seine. The rink is open until 22.00 every night, There are skates for hire for just 5 but you can also bring your own. There is a special section for toddlers (under 6) with activities and games. Another free outdoor ice rink is located at Raoul-Dautry Square, in front of Montparnasse station (15th district). After performing a triple toe-loop in front of the tallest skyscraper in France, Parisians and tourists can rest in one of the famous Montparnasse cafs, the Dme and the Coupole. The Montparnasse Ice Rink is open until 20.00. Finally, on the first floor platform of the Eiffel Tower, a 200m ice rink has been built, 57m above the Champ de Mars gardens. This unique and very special ice rink, the highest in Paris, is open everyday from 9.30 to 23.00 between 10 December and January 23.
