27 June-8 August 2005.

The high point of the cultural calendar in Barcelona is the summer festival and visitors are strongly advised to book their tickets in advance. The organisers of this years edition, the 29th, are Teatre Grec of Montjuic who have booked scores of artists from theatre, dance and music, for a six artistic extravaganza. Visitors can enjoy exhibitions, literary readings, and both traditional flamenco and classical music performances. The organisers have been at pains to invite artists and performers that have never performed before in Barcelona, in many cases putting musicians and actors who have never performed together up on the same stage. Both well-known stars like Joss Stone and Craig David alongside lesser known acts that have yet to make a name for themselves beyond a local audience. Other big names scheduled to perform are Brian Wilson, Bebe & Elbicho, Marianne Faithfull and Trisha Brown.
