Russia on the Road (1920-1990)

16 Oct-15 Dec. This exhibition at Palazzo delle Esposizioni comprises around 60 paintings from the collection of the Russian Realist Art Institute in Moscow as well as from other important art museums, including the Tretyakov Gallery and the Russian Museum.

The exhibition examines 70 years in the history of Russian art, largely coinciding with the Soviet era, and touching on themes such as space travel, industrialisation, and the growing importance of machinery in daily Russian life.

Some of the exhibition's better known works include masterpieces by artists such as Aleksandr Deineka, Yuri Pimenov and Georgy Nissky.
