Odio l'Estate. Odio l'Estate. Festival Villa Carpegna
23 August - 8 September 2010. Titled 'Odio l'estate', meaning 'I hate summer', this festival takes its name from the late Italian musician Bruno Martino's 1960 jazz standard 'Estate', favoured by jazz artists the world over.
The festival has been organised between Rome's well established school of jazz, St Louis, and the city's municipal authorities, and takes place in Villa Carpegna's Piazza Irnerio, in the Aurelia district west of the Tiber. The line up includes the best of Italian, American and international jazz artists including Roberto Gambarini, Simone Cristicchi, and the Saint Louis Big Band featuring Javier Girotto, Chris Potter, Aaron Goldberg and Clarence Penn.
