Italian Swiss gaelic football tournament

The Rome Gaelic Football Club will host the first round of the Italian Swiss regional gaelic football competition 2014, on Saturday 12 April.

The Rome club will take on three other teams from Padova, Rovigo and Geneva, all playing 11-a-side, with each team playing four games in total.

"Geneva are hot favourites but we'll give them a good game — club chairman Chris Taggart told Wanted in Rome — Padova have really improved and have gained a lot of confidence from a good display in last year's Pan European tournament in Athlone [Ireland]. Rovigo have gone on a recruitment drive and could be the dark horses. It's anybody's tournament really."

The tournament kicks off at 10.00 at the club's training grounds at RomaRugby and afterwards the presentations take place at the club's sponsor Scholars Lounge.
