Last year the governing and funding bodies of the festival entrusted its artistic direction to the KML Foundation and to Sir John Eliot Gardiner, who continues the tradition of hosting guest orchestras not tied to the spiritual theme of the festival. The sacred music programme features two concerts by The English Baroque Soloists and the Monteverdi Choir conducted by Sir John Eliot focusing on Bach. Some big names to look out for include those of the mezzosoprano Bernarda Fink, conductor Rinaldo Alessandrini with his Concerto Italiano, and cellist Gautier Capucon.
