After photographer Riccardo Ghilardi stumbled across a forgotten corner of the former Istituto Luce in Cinecittà, an historic public film institution destroyed by fire, he decided to bring to life the characters still visible from the burnt rolls of film. With the help of more than 30 contemporary Italian actresses, Ghilardi recalls the original stars with 25 large scale photographs. Many of the images were photographed in dark rooms and amid archive filming equipment in Rome venues associated with the world of film, from past and present.
