Rome turns 2,762
The Eternal City turns 2,762 on 21 April, which is believed to be the date of its mythical founding by the twins Romulus and Remus in 753 BC. To celebrate, the capital will turn back the clock for a week of historical re-enactments from gladiator training to a patrician wedding.
