The 14th Rome Marathon takes place on Sunday 16 March starting in Via dei Fori Imperiali at 09.00. 14,500 people from 76 different countries will participate in what has become the most popular sporting event in Italy and one of the top ten marathons in the world. There will also be a four kilometre Stracittadina fun run starting at 09.15, and for which 50,000 participants are expected.

The marathon starts and finishes in Via dei Fori and will wind back and forth along the Tiber and past some of the most important parts of the city such as Piazza Venezia, Piramide, St Peter
