No cell phones in the classroom.

Starting 17 March, students must keep their mobile phones turned off during lessons or risk having them confiscated by teachers, to be returned in the company of a parent or guardian.

According to the ministry of education this is not a new rule but a clarification of a 1998 regulation that laid out guidelines for classroom behaviour for both students and teachers. Until now this was interpreted as stopping short of ban on mobile phones so long as they didn
