On 21 April, Romes birthday, the first eight pavilions of the new Fiera di Roma will be officially inaugurated. The new complex when completed will have 22 pavilions occupying 186,000 sqm, a head office, a conference centre for 4,000 delegates, parking for 14,000 vehicles, bars, restaurants, a travel agency , meeting rooms, banks and a 500-room hotel. Entrance to the pavilions will be from walkways suspended six metres above the ground and moving walkways and escalators will take the public from the Fiera entrances to the walkways.

The new Fiera di Rome is being built on the Rome Fiumicino motorway and has a railway connection on the Rome Terrmini -Fiumicino line which runs every 15 minutes. The first event to be held at the new Fiera will be Orocapital which opens on 22 September 2006.
