The extreme right party of Alessandra Mussolini, granddaughter of Italy's war-time dictator, is furious after being struck off ballot papers for upcoming regional elections in Lazio. All political parties taking part in elections in Italy have to provide lists of signatures supporting their candidacy. The electoral committee claims to have uncovered irregularities in the lists provided by Social Alternative (AS), the party founded by Mussolini only last year. The AS has vowed to fight the decision and Mussolini has even called for its supporters to mark their ballot papers with the Social Alternative logo or name in protest if the decision is not overturned.
