England face Italy in Rome for Six Nations rugby

English rugby fans descend on Rome as Italy takes on England in Six Nations.

England plays against Italy at Rome's Olympic Stadium on Sunday 14 February at 15.00 as part of the annual Six Nations rugby union championship.

The game is Italy's second fixture of the 2016 campaign, and England remains the only Six Nations side that the Azzurri have never defeated.

The 17th edition of the rugby union championship – which is contested by England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales – began on 6 February and finishes on 19 March.

In the opening match of the first round, Italy narrowly lost out to an historic away win against France with a final score of 23-21. A disappointed Italian captain Sergio Parisse said he accepted full responsibility, blaming the defeat on his decision to go for a last-minute failed drop-goal against France.

Despite Italy's loss, the French coach of the Italian team, Jacques Brunel, said he was pleased with his side's performance in Paris, saying that some commentators had predicted a French win by more than 30 points.
