On Saturday 1 October, 106 buildings belonging to 55 Italian banks will open their doors and offer free guided tours of their cultural assets to the general public. The buildings, in 59 cities all over Italy, vary from mediaeval palaces to purpose-built contemporary buildings. It will be possible to see gardens, cellars, archives and libraries, as well as works of art, furniture and in some cases exhibitions specially prepared for the occasion. The banks will be open from 09.00-19.00 and visits will be available in Italian and English. Last year the event attracted more than 76,000 visitors.

For a complete list of the buildings that will be open on 1 Oct, see www.abi.it or send an SMS to 340439990, indicating the region of Italy that interests you.
