Ancient Rome is the subject of the largest computer simulation of a historic city ever created. Classicists, historians and computer whizzes from the universities of Virginia and Los Angeles and Milan Polytechnic have created a virtual Rome, complete with 3D models of 31 monuments and 7,000 buildings, recreating as faithfully as possible the city as it was in the reign of the Emperor Constantine in 320 AD.
