Tiburtina

This area takes its name from the wide road that runs through the whole district, starting from San Lorenzo and running east to Tivoli. This is an area of mainly low-cost, high-rise apartment blocks, built in the period of the economic boom in the 1950s. You can find everything you could need along the Tiburtina, from food to clothing. Often blocked by traffic, the Tiburtino has an important railway and a underground station. This area is well connected to the rest of Rome and is scheduled for extensive re-development in the new future.
